A Facelift is a procedure to remove sagging skin from the lower portion of the face excluding the eyebrows. Traditionally this procedure was done on skin which resulted in a pulled appearance or fake youthful appearance which earned the procedure a bad reputation among patients. Many improvements and modifications have been done over the years, including what is called double layered facelift (SMAS lift). Over time this procedure has been modified into many different procedures among those are the medium facelift, mini facelift, and the traditional extended facelift. The medium and mini lift are designed for the younger patients with less saggy skin. The modifications of these procedures mainly came about because there was an increase of younger patients starting to seek methods for tighter skin.
