Many of us have excess fat in areas of the body that we want to remove. Fat deposits can occur in the face and body that are hard to get rid of. Living a healthy lifestyle with a good diet and exercise may not be enough to eliminate fat in stubborn areas like the neck and face. This can become frustrating, but there is an easy way to remove this fat without having a surgical procedure.
Mesotherapy is a safe and effective nonsurgical procedure that can remove unwanted fat. This method was developed in France and has been used since 1952. Mesotherapy is now FDA approved and is used by many people in the United States. Mesotherapy can improve cellulite, eliminate localized fat deposits, promote weight loss, and has proven benefits to prevent aging. The process involves injecting a mixture of vitamins, nutrients, and minerals into the body. They are injected under the skin in a layer of fat that is known as the mesoderm. The vitamins and other properties of the injection then dissolve into the fat and enter the blood stream. The body will naturally excrete the fat once it is melted. This can also assist in dissolving the often fibrous material that causes cellulite, allowing for a smoother skin appearance.
Cellulite is Common
The only proven way to eliminate cellulite in the body is with mesotherapy. Cellulite affects people of all ages, even the young, and it often appears as lumps or bumps on the skin, particularly the backs of the thighs. Some liken it to the appearance of cottage cheese or an orange peel. Getting rid of cellulite quickly can now be achieved. Mesotherapy can eliminate this problem because the injection targets the actual cause of the cellulite. There are many stages of cellulite that can influence how many treatments are needed. Stage 0 cellulite is deemed to be when no cellulite is visible at all. Stage 1 cellulite is when there is not any cellulite visible when standing or laying down, but a texture can be observed when the skin is pinched. Stage 2 cellulite is when the cellulite is visible when standing up, but not laying down. Stage 3 cellulite is when cellulite can be seen when standing and laying down. The stage of cellulite will influence the type and number of mesotherapy treatments.
If the patient continues to follow a healthy diet and exercise regularly, the effects of mesotherapy can be even better. Patients often have five to seven treatments and can see results by weighing themselves or measuring inches lost. Each treatment can have numerous injections depending on the patient’s body and level of cellulite. The results of weight loss can vary, but some experience a loss of approximately one pound per week! Another benefit to mesotherapy is that it is relatively painless and does not take long. There is almost no recovery time and the patient is able to return to work or regular activities after. There are some side effects that can occur, but they are minimal compared to the beneficial results.
A slight burning sensation may occur after the injection and swelling does occur in some patients. The swelling could last anywhere from one two to five days. Soreness can occur at the injection site and when any injection is performed there is a risk of infection. If skin discoloration occurs, it will dissolve and resolve itself quickly, very similar to a chemical peel. Negative side effects do not often occur, but should be acknowledged by the patient.
Mesotherapy has been found to be effective in most patients who have had treatments. The results are permanent and last for life. Another benefit to mesotherapy is the cost. The treatments can cost approximately $500 and after several treatments it is still much cheaper than liposuction procedures.
