Microdermabrasion System Is The Answer
Does "The California Peel" replace other cosmetic procedures?
"The California Peel" is a stand-alone procedure, but many practitioners use our Microdermabrasion System in conjunction with laser and other procedures to enhance or improve the results.
How is the procedure performed?
A carefully controlled stream of aluminum oxide crystals are directed onto the skin surface removing tiny particles of dead lifeless skin which are then vacuumed away along with the crystals...giving birth to the new vibrant skin below.
How long does "The California Peel" take?
A single procedure takes between 30 and 40 minutes and should be repeated at intervals of 1 to 2 weeks depending on skin type and condition. After the procedure you experience a slight blushing of the skin which disappears within one or two hours. There is no worry of down time because this is a non-invasive procedure. You are able to return to your regular activities right away!
Will I see an improvement right away?
Many patients experience softer, smoother glowing skin after their first treatment. The recommended treatment plan is between two and twelve treatment, depending on the condition and type of your skin and the results desired.

There is almost no comparison between these two procedures. Microdermabrasion is more of a spa treatment to offer a very mild improvement in skin texture. Dermabrasion generally refers to a surgeon performed procedure that is excellent for acne scars or deep wrinkles. However, the recovery time is obviously greater for dermabrasion. Since laser resurfacing came about dermabrasion has become old school. Laser resurfacing has less down time and more results. Laser resurfacing can be repeated as much as the patient likes (as long as there is enough healing time between sessions) whereas Dermabrasion thins the skin so the procedure can only be repeated a few times.
This would depend on exactly what which condition we are treating. Long term results are not achieved with microdermabrasion.
Dermabrasion of the skin can be used to treat a variety of conditions such as acne pitting, wrinkles, scars, texture, pigmentation and sagging skin. We offer less invasive treatment alternatives including laser treatments as well as chemical peels and treatment packages for all of these issues as well. Please come in for a complementary Visia™ Skin Analysis to see which treatment would be the best for your skin type.

Microdermabrasion will not treat acne scars or wrinkles. Co2 laser, Erbium laser and fractionated laser are best to treat scars and wrinkles. Once your skin is analyzed we could determine which would be best for your skin.
